Week 1 Top Ten Moments

Throughout the summer I will pick 10 moments with the varsity group that stands out in my mind as exceptional or memorable.  Athletes will be rewarded points for these feats of excellence in our "Race for the Poster."

Top Ten Week 1:

#10: Driver's Ed group successfully shows up on time at 6:30AM.

#9: First "Elite" Friday has 17 athletes.  An optional (all workouts are "optional" but Friday is extra) workout had a committed group of athletes run 10 100's and make all of their times.

#8: Wes Baker, Joe Jones and Jon McDermott grab rim in jumps 16 ways with two hands multiple times.

#7: Leo Ocon sets the bar high in the bench rep portion of the Reaper Combine benching 185 pounds 23 times.

#6: Devin Haws takes top place in the L-drill with a time of 7.09 seconds.

#5: Alan Vega runs an impressive 4.27 in the short shuttle at the Reaper Combine.

#4:  Successful first annual Reaper Combine: Thanks to the help of our coaches and players who were willing to work out early in the morning in order to help the Reaper Combine go smoothly.  These athletes included Trent Bowers, Corey Klatt, Andy Christensen, Trevor Rea, Nate Lee, Zach Peruski, Austin Coffin and alumni Will Brown and Ryan Smith.

#3: Cesar Quesada finishes in the top 5 of the junior class in each event at the Reaper Combine.

#2: Joe Jones finishes in the top 5 of each event from the reaper combine including top performances in the 40 (4.58), the vertical jump (33.5 in.) and the broad jump (117 in.)

#1: Weslye Brown finishes first in 5 out of 7 events in the Sophomore class's Reaper Combine. In the other 2 events he finished 2nd.
